Find the power range of the bike in 1st gear, depending on the size usually around 6,000rpm. Squeeze the gas tank tight with your legs, keep your arms locked, and give the throttle a quick twist. After the bike comes up, let of the throttle and slowly roll back on. When you can't see over your bike, then you know you're where you should be. That's why you see people looking to the side of their bikes. It's very scary at first and your brain will say no. But practice makes...... AND always keep your foot over the rear brake, if you go to high just tap it and your front tire will come back to earth. Also check out superstreetbike.com there's good tips on there as well. Good luck and remember, "only one wheel on the ground saves rubber"
