| | I'm interested in any advice (good or bad)regarding the ST1300. I need a long haul reliable ride with shaft drive. |

| | I have owned two 2003 ST1300ABS bikes. The first was totaled 11-20-03 resulting from a collision with a deer. I can't say enough good things about the bike. It is smooth, fast, comfortable, handles good, has plenty of storage room, especially if you buy a Givi or Hondaline topbox, and it has a great three year warranty. It does pump off a lot of heat above 80 degrees, but this can be minimized by removing the inner fairing liners (simple procedure). The stock Dunlop tires sucked on the first bike, but the replacement bike has Bridgestones that are smooth as glass. I also used Metzeler tires on the first bike and they were great. The bike's gas mileage ran from 42-48mpg, and it will go 275-300 miles on the 7.7 gallon gas tank. If you buy a standard ST, you can convert the windshield to power with instructions online. Hope this helps. |

| Go to this site http://groups.msn.com/st1300us/home.msnw
Go to the general section and ask your question again. You'll get lots of positive responses. Both 2004 models come with electric windshields.

| I lookes at the STs for 4 years and just bought the 2004 5 weeks ago. Since then, I have added Heli bars, Top box and ridden from Virginia to Illinois (over 1400 miles). The bike performed superbly. I has great power, even at highway speeds, is very comfortable, the aesthetics (loooks, instruments, feel) are all great. My only minor point is the seat - hard on the rear-end after about 400 miles in one day - but the new Corbin seat should take care of that. I would buy yhis bike agin in a heartbeat.

| I purchased a 2004 ST 1300 in April of this year. I can't say enough good about it other than the seat. The rest of the bike has been a very pleasant surprise. The handling is very good, the ride is exceptionally smooth (even at speeds of 80-90 +) The bike is heavy, but once it is moving a couple miles an hour it feels like a bike that weighs 2-300 lb. less. The following website will provide some good info also to anyone who owns one. http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/
The electric windshield is an incredible stock item. I had to throw this in.

| No good asking an owner/rider - we're too baised ! Seriously, I'm on an '04 ABS and can't fault it. For long haul work adding cruise control, heated grips and Corbin seat is a worthwhile enhancement. For some comparison notes, try:
