| Hello -
I just bought a used 2004 KFX 50 for my son. It rides and performs as expected with the minor expection of a gas leak. The tube coming off of the carberator, which I thought was the overflow tube, has a continuous stream of gas flowing out of it. Even when the ATV is not running. The ATV performs perfectly, even when this gas is flowing out of the tube. What is this? How can I fix it?

| | i had the same problem on my 250r. the floats in the carb are sticking. you need to get the carb rebuilt. it costed me about 70 bucks (including labor) to get it done at a local dealership. |

| | Definately the float valve. It might be dirty or it might just be set wrong. Carbs are pretty easy o work on once you get the idea of what all of the different parts are (needle jet, main jet, pilot jet, float valve...) Get this one figured out and you have all bikes mastered. |

| | Just make sure that the petcock is on the on,not on prime. It sounds simplistic, but always check the obvious/easy stuff first. It is probably just the float like the other responders said. |

| | Kinda an old post but my son's 50 started the same drip and I adjusted the float and it fixed it right up. |
