| Has anyone had problems with the fan not working? I bought 2 2006 Brute Force 750 4x4i machines. After about 200 miles on one the fan quit working 450 miles on the other same thing.
Any feedback would be great, as they claim it is a wiring issue and soldered them together. I am conserned about the rest of the wiring.

| I just got my 750I. I would suggest taking all of the connectors apart and applying a small amount of Vasaline to help the corrosion problem. I done this with all my vehicles and its served me well for a few pennies and a few hours labour. Good luck.

| my 2006 BF 750i has cooling fan issues right now. i can run the fan with jumpers from an external battery or from the bike battery. i have tried to bypass all the switches in the circuit but the fan will not run, i checked voltage at the fan connector and i am getting varying readings
with the bike revved up i get the 12 to 13.5 volts but as soon as i place a load on it by plugging in the fan it drops to about 4 volts. i haven't checked alternator output yet or regulator circuits, but with an alternator checker hooked to the battery all seems well. any suggestions would be great. |

| I feel for ya on this one. I just went through this on my 06 750 brute force. On mine I was getting 12.3 volts at the fuse and only 11.9 at the leads to the fan switch. My buddy chased the wiring and found on the main wire harness above the gas tank, there is a box where all of the main wires join for the accesories for the quad, you can see the shape and location of the block in the wire harness before you have to even cut the harness. This block (white in color) had arced and burnt the wiring causing a voltage drop in the circuit. He simply was able to cut out the block and join all the wires of the same colors into heat-shrinkable butt connectors and the problem is solved. A $15 fix with parts from your local auto parts store.
Hope this solves it for you. |
