| I have the Hawkeye that sputters going up hills. The dealer has tried 3 different jettings recommended by Polaris on my quad and another off the showroom floor. The service manager himself came to test on my hills. As he started to climb, it sputtered and lost power. He let off throttle and it grabbed. It threw him and he ending up braking his ribs!! He took it back to dealership saying it was unsafe to ride. They've had it for over 3 weeks now, and several times before. Polaris isn't being any help either. Anyone have suggestions?

| I have had the same problem with my wifes. Bogs on hills. Mechanic went to a 142.5 jetting and it is better, but still not perfect in my eyes. My wife and i went riding yesterday and she thought it took the steep ridges fine. She only weighs 120 ...I'm at 230. Good Luck....I have learned not to purchase "new models" anymore. Althought my wife and I both love the handling on this machine.

| This must be a common problem with this model. This is a risk we take by purchasing the first of a model. How long will it take for Polaris to admit a problem? Will they admit a problem?

| It is the jetting in the carburator..Polaris won't do anything about it..Depending on the elevation where you ride determines the size jet you need..i.e. sea level to about 2000' needs a 142.5 jet, 3000' - 4000' needs a 140 jet, etc... It should be a warranty item but Polaris refuses to acknowledge it, so buy a different brand next time...
