| I am looking fo a sporty looking bike to tour with my wife. I am also looking at the Hayabusa. The last bike I owned was a 650 Nighthawk. I am 5'7" 170 lbs and my wife is 5'3", 125 lbs. Is the CBR1100xx comfy for two people on 4-5 hour trips?

| | Neither the Hayabusa or the cbr 1100xx is a comfy bike to ride for 4 or 5 hours especially with 2 people. They are not horribly uncomfortable but are not touring bikes that you can ride all day long |

| As far as the pillion is concerned they love it for as long as you can ride. The problem is, as the driver, the position is quite low and too much weight on the hands. However, with the addition of helibars, the bike would be SUPERB as a sports tourer all day long.

| I have a 2001 CBR1100XX that I've been riding for a couple of summer now. I can tell you that 4-5 hour trips are about all I care to ride in a day. The stock seat and handle bars are crap for any kind of distance riding. I bought a Corbin seat and Helibars and it made a huge difference in my comfort level. I can't get my wife on it though.

| I, too, think the weight on the hands is about the only issue with this machine. I'm 6' 200lbs, and find everything else about it perfect. It's great for one-up riding all day, and I do it quite a bit when I can (I have a 2002 XX). My wife (5'5" 125 lbs.)says riding on the back is superior to even my old FJ, which was well known for all-day comfort for passengers. For two up, you're good for a couple of hours. Then you need a short break for yourself. She says she'd be happy there all day. Compared to the Hayabusa, though....go with the XX.
