| | I'm either going to buy a 2006 DS650X or a 2006 Raptor 700R. I'm a new rider, 6'2" 250 lbs. and looking for performance and comfort in the dunes and desert. I know all the specs. but is there someone who has ridden both? |

| DEAR FRIEND, YOU MEET ALL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS EXCEPT FOR THE PART ABOUT BEING A NEW RIDER. MY BROTHER HAS ONE AND LET ME TELL YOU, YOU WOULD BE MUCH BETTER OFF PURCHASING SOMETHING MORE ON THE ENTRY LEVEL! PS PLEASE RESPOND. THANK YOU NI4NIGUY@AOL.COM

| | Yes, I have ridden both. I bought the DS 650. I am 6'2" and 230. For a bigger guy, it was much more comfortable, it doesn't feel like you are setting up on the handle bars (as the 700r makes you feel) The DS is fantastic in the dunes and very fast. Only one draw back for a new rider, no reverse. If you really are a new rider this is a lot of bike, be careful! This is not a Beginner bike! |

| take Raptor 700 because is 100 lbs less
than the DS 650 and in the dunes a 300ex
beat him and he got 350cc of less
raptor 700 got injection not the DS...
a raptor is most popular in canada same
they made here...
my friends got one a 2001
and i beat im whit my 400ex 2000
except in top speed
buy a raptor why he have a reverse
there my opinion
you will not regret

| get the DS, other than the fuel injection and lighter weight on the 700 the DS is better in every other way, and at your size you will like it even better.

| GET THE RAPTOR 700R YOU WILL BE MUCH BETTER OFF. I BEAT A DS IN PISMO PLUS FUEL INJECTION MEANS THAT YOU WONT HAVE TO REJET FOR ALTITUDE

| | I have a 2006 DS and my brother just bought a 700 Raptor. I think for wide open spaces the DS is more stable and easier to jump. It also is larger and better suited for dune riding. |
