| Has Kawasaki fixed the doohickey yet? These bikes have a reputation for doohickey (chain driven balancer tensioner)failure. This issue is a big problem where many bikes have had complete engine failures. Fixing this problem is quite an ordeal.

| | No, they still use the same system. However I don't think it's a big issue to rectify, $100 in parts and tools and a couple hours and it's done. There's a step by step instructions on a webpage. |

| | Actually, I believe in the late 90's the factory upgraded the parts for this but kept the same numbers. I know I've read it on a few posts about the KLR's..but I haven't confirmed it. |
