| | I am on the verge of buying the 400 HO XT, but I'm worried about the power of low, middle and top end. I will be riding in muddy trails, hills and roads in upper Maine. I will be riding with a Grizzly, Brute Force, Kodiak 450 and Polaris 500. Should I stay with this choice or just upgrade to a Brute Force. |

| You darn right there is enough power. I have been riding on a frozen lake with a bunch of snow and this thing rocks. Plenty of speed and rides like a dream.

| I have had the 330 Outlander for 4 months and we've gone through hell together. I managed to swamp it last w/e. But, after draining air intake, spitting water from head, draining muffler and blowing out the left side drive panel, I got it to run again and made it back 5 miles to road. ONly negative on this quad is that it make s A LOT of strange noises.

| Hey Mass, dude. The 400 will ride side by side with the Kodiak, in facat on trails it handles much better. It will climb with the Brute Force and will be even with the Polaris 500. (My neighbor has one) He has nothing on me.
The 400 engine has 4 valves, which allows it to aspirate (breathe) well, so it runs great at all levels, no dead spots in the rev. It also rides much better than the BRute, because of the suspenson differences.

| You will find that power dosn't make that much of a difference....from 400HO to 450 to 500...they are all fairly even. The 400HO in my opinion has the top speed. I find that the outlander shines in its comfort. I can go super fast through rough stuff and it feels like i've been on a lazy boy all day. Buddies have to wear kidney belts cause there gets are sore at the end of a ride.....once you have one you will learn the low end power is same as everyone else, you will outrun them on top end, and your gut won't be shaken loose.

| I have pulled a ford econoline van out of the muddy ditch..no question about the power...and it tops out at 55mph in 2 wheel drive high. The quad ROCKS!!!

| | 4h is somewhat weak but that is the nature of these new cvt belt systems. I wish the high gear had a little more power. I ride with a polaris 500 and he wishes his had more too. He is always riding in low gear. |
