I am looking at the 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 400 Auto 4x4 and the 2005 Arctic Cat 400 Auto 4x4 and am unable to decide on one or the other. Any suggestions?

I would test drive both. You will be able to make a decision then. Plus you should consider things like suspension and weight.

I don't know anything about the Yamaha, but after riding my Artic Cat, my nephew said his Yamaha wasn't near the machine the AC is. His Yamaha is 2 yrs old now and my AC is new. Do like I did, compare. I know the more I ride mine, the more I love it.

I Have the Arctic Cat 400 4x4 Manual.
I Love it & its easy to start rugged, more ground clearance if you are to go over stomps and large objects. This is my 3rd Arctic cat and I won't get no other kind. To each own but I recomend
Arctic Cat for it's over all performance.

I faced the same decision a wek back. After trying out the 2 vehicles I found the ground clearance on the Arctic Cat to be superior as well as the overall size of the machine. If you want a smaller vehicle which will liklely be easier to handle then Kodiak is not the wrong way to go.

I ended up with the Arctic Cat and couldn't be more pleased.

I purchased two Artic Cat 400 automatics and go riding with friends who own Polaris 500 automatics and they like our cats better than their own machines. We couldn`t be happier than we are with our Artic Cats. Good power, good steering, ground clearence, great suspension and great warranty.

Your way better off with a Yamaha. If your gonna buy an Artic Cat then you should probably just buy a generic.Yamaha will out perform an Arctic Cat in every catagory any day of the week.
