| I have riden both and the Suzuki and the Yamaha both will achieve 58-60mph but the Suzuki Vinson inspires confidence the Yamaha is a little squirly especially in loose terrain and when turning at speed. The Yamaha may have a mph or two on the Suzuki but in reality your seldon going to need top speed. Both ATV's are impressively fast for 4WD's.

| I happen to own both of these ATVs that you are asking about, I also own a small private airport with a paved runway (7L8 Post-Air for all you pilots out there) the suzuki vinson tops off at 60 mph. (going with the wind, on pavement)
While the yamaha Grizzly 660 tops off at 65 mph (with the same conditions, same day) If you are on grass, reduce both speeds by 3-4 mph.

| | I have a 2004 semi-auto Vinson (LOVE IT). My brother and his friends all own grizzley 660's (4 in all). Let's just say this, it has turned into a bit of a rivalry and my Vinson holds it's own, in fact has come out on top in a drag the majority of the time. Of the 4 Grizzley's I can beat 3 of the 4. The one I can't beat has been modified. My Vinson is stock and so are the other 3 Grizzley's. If your just comparing the 3 stock grizzley's vs my stock vinson...I will beat 2 of the 3 everytime and the third is very close. The trick is to keep the race close until I get to 3rd gear...If I get to 3rd gear and we are about even...it's over, the vinson will pull ahead in third gear (you gotta love that 3rd gear, you vinson owners know what I'm talking about) and 4th and 5th will keep that lead. I've had my vinson up to 63 mph. I bought it to hunt and take fishing, the sporty feel and top end was a surprise to me and really just a bonus! |
