The 2003 Vulcan 800 classic comes in black or red with gold colored flare detailing. Does anyone know if the gold flares can be removed without too much trouble after purchase? Also, can the "800" be removed from the air filter?

Rob,
Yes the 800 can be removed from the Air filter. It is only a sticker. I removed mine right away as I felt it looked tacky on the chrome. Use some WD40 and Peel it off. I also removed the Kawasaki fromt the sides as they are only stickers. I know another person who removed the Fire & Ice logo from the gas tank as that is only stickered on. Hope this helps.

as far as the pinstripe, it has been clearcoated over, so i wouldn't recommend trying to peel those off
