I have an '03 1200 Custom with rejetted carb and Screaming Eagle pipes. I would like to make it louder. What are my options, and is one of them removing the baffles? If I do, does it require a carb rejet?

As far as im concerned you already have a beautiful bike. Keep it in the condition its in. The screaming eagle pipes that you have are loud enough. Secondly do you want to wake the neighbors all the time.

Check the catalogs for "Rip Saw" pipes. They are the meanist sounding pipes made and are exellent quality.

Knock the baffles out if you want loud... leave them in if you want power! I am on my third Sportster ('03 1200 Custom) been riding them for over 20 years. I have SE II pipes, SE air cleaner, thunderjet kit, dyno tuned, and it is a very, very strong running and sounding machine. The SE pipes should burn in within several hundred miles. If you want more performance, dig real deep into your pockets!

Remember there is a difference between music and noise. I was very happy with the sound and performance of my 1200 custom with S E pipes, jet kit, breather kit. They do improve with miles.
