| | I'm having a hard time between the Dark and the yellow 749. I like the overall look of the Dark but can't seem to resist the attention the ferrari yellow will bring to the table. Thought and concerns are appreciated. |

| | Hi. I've just bought a box-fresh 749 in yellow. I agree that the Dark is nice; no question it suits the styling. I've found the thing with yellow is people either get it or they don't - me, I think it's a great colour for a bike, so it was the preferred choice for my 749; but no other colour seems to divide opinion so strongly. It was interesting when I started contacting dealers that they'd say things like 'I've got one in yellow - is that okay?' expecting me to say 'no, it's gotta be red'. And that's the thing, there is a view that red is the true natural livery for a sports Ducati. Apart from having to have the 'why didn't you get a red one?' conversation over and over, I reckon this is only really an issue when you come to sell on later - then the colour may work against you by limiting your potential market for a private sale and maybe even affecting the price you could charge. Clearly there are people who favour yellow - if only because everyone and his dog's got a red one - and that's perhaps why Ducati (and Ferrari) offer this opportunity to be distinctive. Anyway, buying a Ducati is an act of unjustifiable passion, so in the end it's got to be the colour *you* want it to be. No question it'll get noticed - yellow is the most visible colour after all - and that might just bring you attention in the best possible way - from the driver who might have otherwise not seen you and pulled out of that side road! Best of luck with it all anyway. |

| | My opinion: Yellow stands out but black goes with everything. |
