| I am a new rider that is trying to decide between a 750 ACE and the 1100 Sabre. I'm a pretty big guy (6'3, 235lbs) and am worried that the 750 would be too small. I'm looking to keep the bike and am not intrested in learning on a small one only to trade it in 6 months time. However, if the 750 can cruise th interstate at a comfortable speed (70-75MPH) for 3 hours or so max, I would be content with that. Would love to have y'alls input. Thanks

| Chris, I owned a new 2000 750 ACE for a year and loved the bike - except I knew I was getting it as a learner. I'm 5'11" and 250# and it simply wouldn't keept up with traffic on the interstate (70+) for my daily 40 mile commute. Adding a Hondaline windshield only made matters worse in crosswinds and truck blow-bys. It certainly couldn't handle my wife as passenger. I ended up trading for a 98 ST1000 and never looked back. If you want superslab performance, go with the Sabre over the 750. If you can live with secondary roads and 60 MPH, the 750 will go all day - you might want highway bars for your feet but the seat is sweet. My 2 cents. - The Breeze

| I picked up a 2003 ACE at the beginning of May, with 3500 miles on it so far. At slightly over 6' and 240# I wouldn't want a bike any smaller than this, but I've found it to be plenty comfortable on my daily commute (~35miles each way) and reasonable on longer trips (have done several 250 mile rides). I hit the expressway most day and don't have a problem doing 75-80mph to keep up with traffic. I've yet to push it past 85mph, which is the point where I find the power starts running out. Not a problem for me though since I'm _not_ in a hurry (about the only one it seems in the Detroit area :-( Most days I cruise in on secondary roads doing 50-60mph and have no problems whipping by the semi's that also frequent that route. Also keeping the speed down around 55-60 I'm getting around 55mpg with an occasional 60mpg. Hauling along with traffic on the E-way brings it down to 48-50mpg. Only things I'm considering doing to the bike at the moment are adding some highway pegs for my long trips and picking up a windscreen that I can throw on when it's raining or below 50F outside.

| Buy the Sabre.. I did what you are considering and the ACE will do all you are asking but you are close to my size and the Sabre is as perfect as you could ask for.. I enjoyed my ACE for 2 years ... but I wish I had goten the Sabre to start with now..

| Go with the Sabre... definitely! On the 750, you'll be thrown halfway across the lane every time you go by a semi. I rode mine 800 miles this weekend, and I can tell you I was glad I took the advice of all the riders I know when they told me to go with something larger. The Sabre weighs about 600lbs full-up, and I found it was good about keeping it's track even when the gusts came up hard from oncoming traffic.

| you really cant go wrong with either bike..of course the 1100 will be a little faster, but the 750 has plenty of horsepower for the average rider..if you are not planning on long, long trips or speeds of 100 +, save your money and get the 750...hope this helps

| | Get the Sabre. If you get the 750, you'll just be trading up in a little while. |

| I am 6-4 260lbs and ride a 1100. The bike has room and power for me. I would go with the 1100. The 750 is small for you. I have looked at both and went with the 1100. Bigger is better.
