| I'm considering a Sabre for my very first purchase. I'm a first time rider. Is this an appropriate bike for me? I was thinking about a bike with 750-800cc, but I keep hearing that I will outgrow it in no time. Is that true? Or would a bike with 800cc last me for awhile. What would I be lacking if I did go with the smaller bike. Thank you

| | Jeff, depends on what your needs are. First off, if you've never ridden take an MSF course and get your license. I didn't and wish I had. If you think that speed is your thing then the 1100 is better for you. Depends on where you'll be riding as well, highway, backroads, around town. I have a 750 Aero and for me it's just fine and so easy to ride and usually gets mistaken for an 1100 to those who don't know anybetter. Comfort really is key so try them out first, even if you can't test ride sit on them and lift them of the side stand to feel the weight. Keep in mind that the extra weight of a larger machine also sucks up a small amount of the extra power too. Like with cars weight is relative to power. A light well tuned 4 cyl. can out run heavier V8 machines. Good luck in choosing. |

| I am 6'2" and discovered that the 750 was a little small for me. When I placed my wife on the back of the bike, she found it a bit uncomfortable. She is only 5'3". I went for the 1100 just due to comfort. I liked the way the sabre look over the sprit, namely in the handlebars, but I did like the placement oif the speedo on the 750 and 1300. Go and sit on a few bikes and see what feels confortable to you.

| I purchased the 2005 Sabre for my first bike and love it. The ride is smooth, plenty of power for riding the freeway and it looks great off the showroom floor. I would agree that you would outgrow 750-800cc. The Sabre is easy to ride. I'm average build and have no problems handling it. My wife also rides with me with easy handling.

| I'm a life-long rider, and I've ridden a little bit of everything, from Honda 350's, Triumps, BMWs, Harleys, Moto Guzzis, Hayubusas, etc., and I find the Sabre (I have an '02 model) to be ideal for beginners, and something that you won't outgrow. The only reason to go bigger is to feed an ego, and while the Sabre has good usuable power, it won't overwhelm a newbie. Check out the 1/4 mile times, it's right there with VTX 1300's, and Kawasaki 1600's!
