| I had performance pipes added, changed the air filter, and tweaked the fuel injection. On 12/13/05 at 2:20 PM in 4th gear at 9100 RPM, my USED '03 V-Rod had 106.5 HP to the rear tire in the dyno chamber with 72.7 torque HP. Other bikes prduce more with a smaller engine. Let's see if they still have their bike 10 years from now and what will it be worth versus a Harley. With a few more simple modifications I will have approximately 130 to 135 HP to the rear wheel. Plenty of horsepower for high speed two up cruising in the hilly area that I live in. A bigger engine that produces the same horsepower as a smaller engine doesn't work as hard and has better longivety.
The stock V-Rod is an awesome machine and depending how much you want to invest in performance and still maintain day in and day out reliabilty, this is a rat bike with exceptional potential. I should know, my last Harley had 523,000 miles on the odometer. It was a lowly 1976 AMF Corporation Harley-Davidson Sportster 883. The hot bike of the day was the Kawasaki KZ1000 and I ran dead even with them. Let me count how many Jap bikes have achieved collector status.....uh.....uh....I'll have to get back with you on that

| | the HP on the maunal is 110.....about 100 to the wheel.....mabey some of the jap scrap will make more power but none of them will be on the road in 10 years either and they certainly won't be worth any more than the scrap crap they were build with.....Harley Davidson RULES the world of motorcycles and anyone that thinks thats false needs to open their eyes because the V-rod is just the begining for lots of things to come that those jap crap companies cant and won't do |
