Can anyone tell me what the possible problem is if my "check engine" indicator is cycling on and off on my 1999 Victory Cruiser?

Have the dealer check and reset the engine computer. Earlier models would do this from time to time and present no problems. My 01 did this out of the blue and I had it reset with no further problems. Also, newer models still make some of the same noise in the primary area. I have heard that adjusting the clutch free play will eliminate some of the noise but most of it is just typical of the design. Anonymous "burner" must have had a bad experience. A review of most if not all of the major bike manufacturers will reveal their first efforts were not perfect ( or even close ). Polaris has worked to improve just about everything on the Victory bikes and are now one of the most reliable and well reviewed v twins on the market. Check out all the awards from the major bike mags and see for yourself. Good luck.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY BIKE IT IS RELATED TO THE CHARGING SYSTEM OVERCHARGING WHEN COLD.CHECK YOUR ALT FUNCTION ON THE SPEEDO WHEN CHECK ENGINE IS FLASHING SEE WHERE YOU ARE AT. MY DEALER IS BAFFLED... BIKE WILL CHARGE UP TO 16+ VOLTS AND
CHECK ENGINE WILL FLASH...A COUPLE MILES DOWN THE ROAD IT QUITS FLASHING & CHARGES NORMALLY. RODE THE BIKE TO THE DEALER AND THE ALTERNATOR & VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHKD. OUT OK (WARM)
I AM TRUCKING IT TO THE DEALER LATER THIS FALL SO THEY CAN TEST IT COLD....
