| DEPENDING IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A 2 STROKE OR 4 STROKE. I AM 5FT 7IN AND I RIDE A KDX 200 YEAR 2000&2002 I LOVE THESE BIKES VERY LOW MAINTINANCE AND DEPENDABLE.I HAVE ALWAYS RIDDEN 2 STROKES.I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING AT A NEW KLX300 BUT THE KDX IS A GREAT BIKE DURABLE AND FASTER THAN MOST THINK.

| | This is a great first bike. Easy to ride, light, and grunty enough for fun riding. Looks cool too with the upside down forks. |

| Id say go with a little smaller bike the kdx 200 is a wonderfull bike it has a little smaller hieght it would be a lot better learner learning how to control learning the power and somthing that has plenty of kick and softness when you need it. Get the 2 stroke then if not a two stroke person then go to your 300 but stay Kawasaki its only the best!!!!!!

| I would say for a first bike go 4-stroke for sure, depending on your weight this bike may be too big. On trails smaller bikes will always be much easier and less intimidating.

| I'm 5ft 8 and have riden the KLX300R for around 2 years. I jumped up from a yamaha TT-R125 and think that is was a perfect jump. The bike is very forgiving and the low seat hight is perfect. The Honda CRF250 is very high off the ground and hard for someones first bike. If the KLX is to big I would get the CRF230. Its the perfect first bike and the hight is perfect for everybody.
