| | is this bike too much for a beginner who mostly will be riding on pavement? |

| If you're less than 5'10", this would be a bad choice for a beginner. I'm 6'0" and stop with just my tiptoes.
The bike rides awesomely well for it's height and is real easy to go thru corners. If you're tall, do yourself a favor and get one tomorrow.

| Maybe too late, as you've probably (hopefully!  ) already picked a bike by now, but, completely agree.
I'm 6'5" and I love this bike. Started with a Bonneville, but ended up trading it in for the Tiger after a few months because, even though I liked the Bonneville, it was just too small for me.
I agree though, if you're of shorter stature, this bike would be a handful. It is pretty top heavy (esp. as it's got a nice big fuel tank up high). The triple engine is sweet, it's a really comfy bike with its long travel suspendion, and for what you get for the $ the bike's a heck of deal (compare to $16K for a BMW 1200 GS...that I don't think even includes side bags!!) |
