When accelerating and letting off, then accelerating again, there seems to be play or slop, almost as if the chain sounds too loose or somthing. Is it normal to have that sort of clunking sound. When shifting, is it normal to have them slap into gear so hard. I have always had the ZX (Kawasaki) bikes and they always seem to shift so smooth.
The bike only has 6000 miles on it and new clutches and springs. Any ideas?

Im not sure if this is the reason, but, I had a 1995 CBR F3, a 1998 CBR 900RR, and currently have a 954 RR. The clutch and that "play" seemed to be on all three Honda's. I asked my mechanic if this was normal and he said yes. Im assuming all Honda are like this, and if not, I'd like to know how to get rid of thais "play" on the throttle response. I would think that the 954 (since its Fuel injected and not carburated) that it woul have less "play", but not true. The response is better, but the "play" still exists.
