| | I have adjusted my chain once at 700 miles and lubricate it every 200 with Dupont Teflon Multi-purpose spray lube - which is compatible with o-ring chains.I purchased the Sears motorcycle jack to get the back tire up quickly. Now have 2000 miles on it and the chain still right on the money for adjustment. Nice thing about the spray lube I use is that it doesn't fling off and coat the rear wheel. I found if I lubricate the chain thoroughly and wait about 10-15 minutes I can drive away and everything stays clean. I am speaking as a normal driver - not ramming it in all the gears but sensible driving use. I will stick with the chain over driveshaft/belt system for the little extra maintenance time. |

| | Mainly just keep the chain clean. Check about every 300 miles. If it looks clean don't bother it. If it looks dirty then get ot an old tooth brush or small brass cleaning brush. They have them at "Home Depot". Don't use gas to clean it! Use a good solvent, then when done use a chain lube. I knew one person that injected oil under the o ring with a hypodermic. this might be overkill but he was getting about 70000 miles out of his chains, or so he said. Good luck. |

| Only as much as any other chain drive bike! A pint of kerosene a stiff brush and some time to do it is all thats needed after you clean the chain some chain lube for effective rust control on the side plates as the chains on 800's are "O" ring chains!
