| It’s called a Compasitor Discharge Ignition. It's the Heart of your Ignition system. The easiest way to explain how it work is to say that it just stores and builds up voltage until it is told to release it to the Ignition coils on the unit. Hope this helps!!! If not Let me know gixxer@gci.net

| a CDI unit (Capasitor Discharge Ignition)is the timing brain of your sled/Bike. The exciter coil builds up the charge for the CDI unit to fire. the CDI will inturn fire on each cylinder at TDC when required. This unit is more effective than the old points and condenser units. It will not matter which cylinder is at TDC, The CDI will fire both plugs at the same time instead of each cylinder as required on the old P& C units
