I dunno if I would recommend an 800 pound motorcycle with almost 100 horsepower to anyone as a first bike. Slow speed riding on this thing is something that needs to be practiced, because you get no second chances if you tip it over. Good news is that it has so much torque you have to be a real tool to kill it on take off. Unless you are a really big guy who needs a big bike to not look goofy while riding, I would suggest something way smaller as a starter bike, then move up to this bike. It is easy to ride, but it is also easy to get into trouble with.

NO NO NO ....this is not a toy this bike is a loaded gun, the weight and the power , will over come a new rider..I have seen new riders freeze up on a 600, and crash into a fence, new riders are a NO on a bike of this nature......its like putting a new driver in a hot rod....425hp...and say park it Ha Ha Ha .....get the Idea???

Sure. Go for it. But before you do, email me and I will provide my personal info so you can name me beneficiary on your life insurance. If you are getting your first bike do NOT buy one of these monsters. Do not buy too small, but for sure do not buy too big. Like an earlier poster said, low speed riding on this thing is a learned skill. With practice and patience you can do amazing things on this bike at almost any speed, but this is not the bike to start out on.
