Hello all, first time I post here, I have found this website to be a very good tool for doing research & comparing quads.

I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on these two quads: Honda Rincon 680 & Polaris Sportsman 500. I will be using it mainly for farm/ranch use, so it can get quite muddy in the pens & chasing cattle etc. Also use it in cold weather regularly, we're in Manitoba, so it gets to be -20 to -30Celsius regularly. Have been told that the Rincon's tranny may not work that well when it's cold... any truth? I definately want IRS because our pastures are very rough & want a smooth ride (our Honda 250 Big Red is just too rough!) To make a long story short, which quad would be better for my situation? The Polaris looks stronger & bigger & it's got better clearance than the Rincon. The Rincon on the other hand is suppose to be very reliable like all Honda products, but seems to be built a bit weaker than the Polaris. I was hardcore Honda until my bro got a Sportsman 500 last fall, I was impressed with the ride & handling, so now I cant make up my mind! I guess we all know the Rincon is more expensive but I may not have to put much money in it later?? Don't want to start any brand wars but just want some good constructive opinions.

TIA,
Dave

rincon, rincon, rincon. They are very dependable bikes and work perfect in all conditions.i know of several people who went out and bought a polaris thinking they were great and they were, until a couple years down the road when they loose all power and start to break piece by piece. So pretty much stick with the honda dependabilty.if you have a big red you should know all about dependable.in my opinion

I would get a Rincon, put on bigger tires, and your good to go. Mine goes anywhere i need it to ( i live in the river bottom ). It wont fail as far as i know. I go hardcore wheelin' almost every weekend. The most reliable thing i know of.
