| I bought one of these used from someone who was trying to get it out of his garage. It had been sitting for about a year and so I bought a new battery. The fuel in it was pretty old and it smelled like varnish in the carb.
I tried cleaning the carb out as much as possible, but it still doesn't stay started. It will turn over for a couple of seconds and die.
What is weird, it stays on a lot longer if the bike is leaning on its left side (at about a 45 degree angle) for a lot longer ( about a minute) and can actually pull on the throttle and the wheel moves.. etc
Anyone figure out what causes these machines to die after starting?
I checked the fuel filter (blew right through it).

| | I don't have an answer for you but I was wondering if you have a manual. I just bought a 2004 Dazon Scorpion 125 however it didn't come with a manual. If you have one could you make copies of it and send it to me? I tried to download it from their web site but their file is corrupt and they are in the process of moving. | If, while cleaning out the inside of the carb, you did not remove the jets & blow clean them out, I would suggest you try that. It solved the problem in my scooter.
