| Z1R is a good helmet for the money. It isn't the most comfortable or best ventilated, but its not bad, and the price is great compared to premium brands.
Also, some of their models are among the overall safest ones due to the fact that thry are DOT approved, but NOT Snell approved. (I know this may sound wrong, but it has been proven that Snell standards make a helmet so "hard" that it actually transfers more impact energy to the skull, than a "softer" DOT only approved helmet, which absorbs and dissapates more energy before it gets to you. Snell is changing their standard to allow softer helmets, but not for a year or so, I believe).
Don't get me wrong, a Snell approved helmet is still good protection, but it is a myth that it is superior to a helmet that has not met Snell requirements, it is in fact inferior (slightly-but hey, we're talking about your brain here.)
I have a ZRP-1, which I believe they changed the name of to the Strike, and I like it. Next year I'll be looking for a new lid and will be checking the new Snell standard to see if its close enough to the DOT. If not, I'll be looking at DOT approved only helmets, and will probably start with Z1R again.
