I have a new sportsman efi 500. I am told that once I go through water its over and the belt will slip leaving you stranded. Is this true? Still breaking in. Great machine so far.

thats total bogus! i have same quad and went through a river and i only have 7 hours on it. they can go through 27 inches of water. if you feel slipage. read the manual and you can get the water out.

Not true, just drain the clutch housing at the bottom. Let the water out and go at it again!
