Since there is no recoil starter on the new 2007 420 fuel injected rancher how would you start it with a dead battery or bad starter.

Well, the pull start kit is optional and you could always replace the battery or starter, whichever is the problem

Installed the recoil kit on my 420 about 6 weeks ago, not that difficult of a job although the kit was a bit pricey at $140.00. Yes the fuel injection will work. You test the installation by disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery. Pull the recoil to see if it starts, remember to turn key on before you pull. It runs with the battery disconnected.

my 07 420 never had a recoil either but i saw one on another 420 at another dealer and i asked him how come mine didnt have one. he said it was a kit that came out after and for me to call my dealer . i did and they mailed it to me . they didnt charge me for the kit at all. that other dealer said that Honda sent these kits out and that the dealers were supposed to be installing these on the machines all for FREE. i installed it myself but it wasent very hard.
