I am looking into buying a aprilia rs 50 and I would like some opinions. I know very little about bikes and this would be my first. Other bikes I was looking at was a ninja 250. Any commets would be helpful.

Larry I just purchased a ninja 2003, my first bike and let me tell you something its great. Its user friendly and the bike doesnt over power you.I live in new york city and I feel its fantastic as a commuter. Once you feel confident you can upgrade to a larger bike. Most people that start off with a larger bike wind up crashing it within months.I highly recommend it!

I have both... Ninja is practical for long distances but Aprilia simply looks good enough and easy to maintain.
Go for the Aprilia if you need a short commute. Watch out the spark plug... The BR9ES was toast after 500 km on mine
but I replaced it with an B9ES...

Gas tank on the Aprilia is a joke to flip over (like the hood of a car). Also tons of aftermarket mods including an 85cc kit which should
give it 80% of the power of a Ninja EX250 while it still has 30% less weight!!!
