I am changing the drive belt and found it difficult to get back on.Any tips? It came off rather easily. Also Im overheating all the time , the fan is not coming on. I have checked fuses, looked for obstructions etc. Would appreciate any help

You can use a couple of the side cover bolts and screw them into the rear pulley --- this will separate the pullies and allow the belt to go on easier. My neighbor and I changed mine (I installed a wider Dayco belt) in about 20 minutes. Put the rear on first the roll the bike forward while pushing/rolling the belt over the front pulley.

How often do you need to change the belt...the service manual states 6 month or 2,000 miles? 6 months seems crazy???
