| The Suzuki M109R does lesk oil out of the right side air cleaner. What is it from? What caluses it? How can it be fixed? It started on my bike at about 223 miles. I can track it going into my garage. Please give help.

| I have had this issue also.. You need to check your oil when the bike is completley warm. If you check it when cold the unit appears low. When you add oil then drive the unit it is then overfilled causing it to leak from everywhere exspecialy from the air cleaners.

| The oil was overfilled by the dealer. They should've read the user manual. The dipstick is too short. As the other reply stated, let it warm up for 15 minutes, then sit for 3. Keep the bike upright during those 18 minutes. Then check the oil. If the level more than touches the bottom of the dipstick, it may be overfilled. For more info on this matter, go to M109Riders.com. You'll get incredible info from other riders that had that problem. Enjoy your ride. I'll pick mine up at month's end.

| The problem you are having is there is to much oil in the motor from the factory. I was having the same problem with mine. Went to the dealership Monday 5-1-06 and the Suzuki rep was there earlier and told the dealership that they are over filling it from the factory. What is happening is there is a relieve hose behind the air cleaner and when the bike gets up to temp it starts to overflow into the air cleaner box then drips onto the case. You must let the bike run for 15 minutes and then shut it down for 3 minutes then check the oil with the bike straight up and down.Hope this helps.

| | The problem is that Suzuki made a flawed product and you should take it to your dealer immediately for a repair. If everyone keeps doing the "warm it up and then check it" technique, there won't be a recall. No vehicle should have to be warmed - then filled. Also, if you were to ever have engine problems and take it to your dealer they will void your warranty when they see that the oil level is low when cool even if the dipstick and lean angle is causing this. |

| | I have a 2007 m109 and my bike started to show oil at around 3500 miles but on the left side of the bike around the oil filler cap/dipstick. I have never added oil to it, the idiot light never showed a problem. I recently had it in for the 4000 mile service at the ride now powersport dealer and they cleaned it up but could not see any leaks. They won't tear anything apart or start a warranty claim until there is more of a problem. The cap has always been tight and I am pissed that for the money I have spent on it my concerns are being dismissed so easily. Still, I really love my bike. |
