| Can someone tell me if they have had loud clutch noise on there
hawkeye, sounds like a loud rattling or a rod knocking but it comes
from within the clutch housing, you can actually feel it if you touch the housing.
The dealer said it's typical of polaris to make noises.
I think that is lame especially if its true!
It mostly makes the noise right after acceleration between 2 to 10
miles per hour.
This is not the hawkeye 300, it is actually the sportsman 400ho
on the hawkeye frame, but im sure the clutches are the same.
Im thinking there must be a fix for this, anybody know it.

| | there shouldn't be any noise at all. the clutch in the hawkeyes are a little different from the bigger sportsmans. It(hawkeye) uses a pre-clutch. This is the same type of clutch system as the Yamaha automatics use. I would take it back to the dealer and them to get there crap together. |

| Went back to the Dealer, and it turned out to be a defective clutch
installed from the Get-Go.
They made there decision after checking out another floor model,
The floor model was nice and quite no noise @ all period. |

| | that's interesting...simply shiming the bearing in the clutch housing has fixed this in the past. |
