I just got a 2008 and wondering if anyone else has one and what they think about it. I learned to ride on a 72 Yamaha enduro and this new bike is so different and quiet. I'm not sure what I think yet. Only put 60 miles on. Once it's past the break in period and I can mess around more, maybe it'll be a different story. I hope so. Still, there's alot to be said for those old bikes from the 70's, they are so damn pretty! And durable too! I miss the kick start, that's the best part!
LOL!

I have put around 100 miles on my new bike. I like it so far. It is a little weak after 60 miles per hour. I have plans on taking the smog equipment off ASAP! XR'S Only have the kit for $25. I want an exhaust system also. When my tag comes in I will cut the bracket to fit it. I do not like the fact that this bike will run wide open in 5th as fast as 6th pegged. It does not hae enough *** to pull past 75mph. I uncorked the baffle in the exhaust to see if it would make a difference. It did to a certain degree. I found out this bike has a catalytic converter built into the exhaust. So, I will need to buy a complete exhaust. I had planned on getting one of the baffle kits from Ebay but with the catalytic converter built in no need for that. If the gov. is worried about the fumes from my little 230 then they have too much time on their hands. Finally got my tires scuffed in. Man those things were slick. Does your engine spark knock? Try uncorking the exhaust it freed mine up alot. I cant imagine what a full sysytem will do.---Tony
