| | I'm looking to buy a used bike, I found an '03 Sabre 1100 with 6000 Miles, custom Mustang Seat, Vance & Hines Long Shot Straight Pipe exhaust, Crash Guard w/ Highway Pegs, and windshield. I also ran across an '04 VTX 1300 with 10,000 miles, hard mount saddle bags, Cobra Straight Pipes, custom Mustang Seat w/ Backrest, Highway Pegs, and windshield. The 1300 is $1500 more. The wife and I will both be riding some, I mainly ride solo. Which would be the better bike/deal? Any Opinions Will Be Appreciated |

| | Hey! I have a 2006 1300R and have put 8000 miles on it over the past 1.5 years. Awesome bike! I ride solo and two-up very regularly. Never a problem with power. To be honest, the 1300 is considered to be (by many people) the best V-twin engine Honda makes. It has a great power curve perfect for solo or two-up riding. The engine is also matched perfectly with the transmission. Superb set-up, great peformance, and good gas mileage! The salesman that sold me my 1300 told me to go for the 1300 and not the 1800...I even heard this from several other Honda salesmen. The 1100 is a good bike, but from what I have read and heard, it is lacking slightly in power. This is not because of the engine; rather, the engine-transmission set-up. It is not a good combination for some reason. You really have to keep the rpms up on the 1100 to get it to do what you want. Actually, Honda's 750 V-twin-transmission set-up has been stated as being a better set-up than the 1100. For an extra $1500, it is definitely worth getting the 1300. You will not regret it. |

| | I happen to have both bike's. I got the Sabre 06 last year and i gave it to my wife this year and got the VTX 1300 C for myself. I have to say that the Sabre did me right even when i went for a long 3 day ride with my old lady. The power was fine and between the two the comfort is the same. But i have to say if you like to corner, well the Sabre dose it right. Man this bike can corner like you want but the 1300 C wont do it like the Sabre. Dont get me roung, i prefer my VTX but in the corners if i lean to much i always hit my foot pegs. They still corner ok but it reminds you every now and then to relacks. Power for the Sabre if you have all the extra's should be fine because the power was ok without. The VTX plain is a fine ride and the sound is what i was looking for without all the extra's. You get that rumble that the Sabre dont have and there is extra power that the Sabre also dont have. You will appreciate the VTX much better for the look the sound and the ride.
