I just bought a used Red cat/ kazuma 50cc quad. I am having a problem getting it started. It has great spark I cleanded the carb and everything seems to be working fine. Just won't start. Seems weak on compression maybe but I don't know what to expect as far as comp on this little machine. It pos pretty good when I have my finger on plug hole so it has some comp. Could the timing be off or the valves be to tight? Any help would be appreciated.

I too have this same problem--- last the little kazuma meerkat 50 was used it worked (started and ran) normally, however now we get good spark, good gas (carb works as it should), but not much in terms of compression (can put my finger in the spark plug port and literally hold back the compression when cranked) and the thing won't start.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated !!!

The valves most likely could be too tight.
This must be done on a Cold engine!! Open your valve caps on the cylinder head. Rotate the engine to TDC. Loosen the tappet nuts and adjust the screw with a .002 thousandths feeler gauge in between the screw & valve. Adjust the screw so the gauge just slides in & out from between the screw & valve. Tighten the nut and make sure the gauge still has some drag, if not re-adjust till it does with the nut tight.
