| Hey I am 30 years old and have never had an accident until I bought a bike, If you want a starter bike this isnt the one, I know you think I can handle it, Im a safe rider Im not going to be stupid, and I believe you just like I believed myself when I bought my first bike, a 2002 honda VFR. The thing is I took a safety course to get my license, I rode my friends gs500 and another friends bike. I had a good handle on it so I bought the bike. I am very careful on my bike I practice in empty parking lots actually at the same place as the drivers test and I behave. The funny part was when I pulled the front brake just a little to hard one sunday morning, beautiful day, while practicing in a parking lot. Thats when me and my pretty VFR parted ways. I wasnt going fast and I had on a helmet, leather boots/ jacket and gloves but I still ended up with road rash when my pants started falling off as I slid backwards across the parking lot. In the end my month old bike cost $4500 without the gear replacements. I had to buy new pants and gloves and I still have pain in my shoulder and hip. The long short of it is, I was told to buy a smaller bike maybe with a little softer brakes and I didnt, I bought the VFR. Love the bike but should have at least had 6 months on a Piece of **** that wasnt so responsive to what I was telling it to do. Its your life and only one person can make this choice but just think if that was you and you did it going down the road with a truck behind you. Motorcycles rule and I love mine but do yourself a favour and pick one up that you can drop and piss around on for a bit to get the feel of the bike and the stupid amount of dangers around you. Then sell it to a friend and buy a pretty one (not a busa)
Remember a 'fender bender' breaks your leg and getting cut off can kill you |
