This bike has a LOT of power for a first-time rider. It scares me, and I weigh 170 pounds.

If you are a fast learner, and have a lot of flat hard-pack to learn on, then you could learn on this bike but it would take patience, and caution, not necessarily in that order.

If you do get this bike, remember to take it easy and stay out of difficult riding conditions, until you get the hang of shifting, and its power.

Good luck
