| I just purchased a Vulcan 900 LT classic and just had the motorcycle in for the 600 mile oil change etc. Almost from the beginning, I have been hearing a clicking sound that appears to be coming from the front end. The sound is heard only when the motorcycle is moving and will decrease in noise when I pull in the clutch. two dealers say that it is part of the normal sound of the bike. Also on occasion, when I release the gas throttle while moving,I hear a loud, what appears to be a rubbing sound from the front.
any suggestions
thank you |

| | I have had the same sound from day one. If the bike is running the clicking noise is there. Dealer also says its normal. Loudest in 2nd gear at 30 mph and 3rd gear at 40 mph. I can get past it but sure would like to get rid of it. Anyone know what this is please let me know. This bike rides so smooth and with the light front end maneuvers great. Even with the clicking noise I would recommend this true mid size crusier to anyone. |

| | My Kawasaki dealer says the noise is normal, but doesn't know what causes it. I do not own a Vulcan 900, I chose to stick with my trusty '04 Vulcan 750, with 15,000+ miles on it, bolt on saddlebags, and a Memphis Shades windshield. I am a former motorcycle mechanic, now an auto mechanic. I have noticed a lot of complaints about unusual noises from owners of all 4 Japanese brands, and Harley. This seems to be a fairly recent problem, and seems to be the result of bad design. It seems to affect mostly v-twins of recent design or redesign. In most cases, the noises do not cause further problems, but it is understandably annoying. Sad to say, but newer motorcycles, especially v-twin cruisers, do not seem to be designed or built as well as they used to be, and this is true of all manufacturers, not just Kawasaki. Jerry. |
