I'm a big guy, 6'-6" tall and about 290 lbs. I'm interested in the 2006 Victory Vegas Jackpot as my first motorcycle. Is this a good choice or should I look at other comparable brands? I am on a budget that is attracted to this motorcycle.

I would strongly recommend AGAINST this bike as your 1st. this is primarily because of the extremely wide rear tire. a rear 250 provides for more difficult cornering especially at low speeds. Not to mention 1600cc is a lot of beef for an inexperienced rider.

I'm 6'5 260 and I have tested the hammer. I like the bike, it fits and the power and responsiveness is great, but for a first bike, the 250 tire is a bit hard to turn. Test drive the vegas or eightball, then try the hammer or jackpot to get an appreciation for the narrow rear tires.

You can't beat the price. Just make sure you save some bucks to change the pipes and cam.. you won't be sorry if you change those things - unless you want to go un-noticed .. then you should leave the stock pipes and cam on it.

I am about 5' 8: and about 200-210 and this is my first bike. It took about a week to get used to. I love it and have driven other freinds bikes becasue they wanted to test drive the jackpot and I haven't driven a bike as comfortable as this bike. The HD's I've driven have too much vibration for me and when you spend this amount of money, vibration should be very minimal or none. It's like buying a new car, do you want vibration or comfort.

For a guy 6'6" and almost 300lb. I dint think that bike will be a problem except for your height. but your probobly used to that. You should be able to throw it around like a mini bike, providing you can drive a motorcycle. In my pinion an 8 ball to a jackpot is almost no difference except price. I have owned many different bikes and a 180 to a 250 tire is a tiny difference in difficulty. If you got the cash , get the best bike you can afford. Dont listen to these little men.
