After riding my nomad for almost a year, i am wondering what is the ideal rider position on this (or any cruiser) bike. Is there a resource that can tell you what the best position is? How much of an angle should my arms/elbows/back be. I'm 6"4" and am not sure if i should get risers to bring the bars toward me. After a while on the bike, i feel my slouching starting to stain my back/neck.

My back hurts also on long trips. From my dirt bike riding days, I have started wearing a kidney belt, seems to work for me.

I had many of the same problems (e.g. sore elbows, sore back, numb thumb on throttle hand, etc.) I'm 6'1" and found that I had to slump forward and keep my elbows straight which contributed to these problems. This year I replaced the stock handlebar risers with a set of Aeromach risers. What a difference! All of the aforementioned maladies have been resolved. The slight movement of the bars allows me to sit up straight with a slight bend in my elbows. I can now ride for hours with no ill effects. The Aeromachs also don't require any modifications and work with the stock cables/wires. There are other makes of risers but I can't comment on them.

I'm considering getting the Aeromach risers, but wanted to make sure there is no issue with clearance around the tank / nacelle for the 2007 Nomad. Also wanted to see if you had any issues with cable lengths as some people reported when installing the risers made by Scootworks (the PhatRisers II). Thanks.

Have an '05 Nomad. Bought it used. Came with risers, rider backrest and highway pegs. Recommend getting them ALL. If you don't need risers, then definitely go for the back rest........WORLD of difference.
I have the utopia one drilled into the passenger seat.

If it didn't already have that, I'd have gotten the Mustang seat with backrest. Will never ride a cruiser without a rider backrest again.
