| I'm looking for a bike in the 600cc class that will be used for both commuting and weekend rides. This will be my first bike, I'm 5'11", 155 lbs, and need a bike that's reliable, easy to maintain and fuel-efficient. In light of all that, I've considered the Katana 600, the Yamaha YZF600 and the Kawasaki ZZR600. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which bike might best fit my needs? Any information you can provide about these bikes would be appreciated.

| For a new bike the 600Katana is good, kinda heavy but good, same with the kawi zzr. But, the yamaha is not a beginer bike. Never ridden one, but from what i've read and heard, the Yamaha is a powerhouse that takes some good bike riding skill to use properly..
Another bike to look at is the Kawisaki Ninja 650R, Great bike for anyone! very sporty and in the "cheaper price range"

| If you are going to be commuting, I recommend the Katana because of it's raised handle bars. You will be much more comfortable than on the others. Also the Katana weighs a little more so it doesn't get blown around on the highways

| I have the 750 Kat...I personally have ridden other pure racing rockets and I enjoy riding my Kat alot more. It is extremely comfortable to ride. My Kat holds corner's extremely well. I also have never noticed the weight of the bike when riding. If you are looking for a good commute bike I would get a Kat...oh wait I already have one . |

| | Kat......no question about it. Very comfortable, great weight for highway travel, and zippy enough to not be bored on weekends. I love mine. |
