| I had recently purchased a 2004 Seadoo XP Di with only 22 hours on it. It has been absolutely great up to about 30 hours, but I just started having problems. The motor will start, and run normally, but the machine loses all propulsion at about 10 MPH. Its almost like the impeller is free wheeling on the driveshaft. The motor will continue to spool up, but I just have no acceleration. I have also noticed quite a bit of exaust being produced when the machine is busy going no where. If I let off of the throttle, it will idle down normally, start moving forward again like normal, but when I try to accellerate, I get up to about 10 MPH and then....it feels like its free wheelin again. Has anyone ever heard of this, or had this problem with other Seadoos? I have tried almost everything I can think of to look at, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The engine does not bog down at all, it just has no propulsion past 6-10 Mph with engine reving like normal.
This is what I have done so far....
I pulled the machine out of the water, and saw absolutley nothing in the intake or around the impeller. Matter of fact, the impeller seems to be in perfect shape...no dings or anything. I also started the machine out of water and the impeller did spin, even at throttle up. I check the fuses. I pulled the cover over the battery, to inspect the driveline, that looks good as well, and spins. I really don't understand. Ever since I got this machine, It has run absoulutely flawless, and I have treated it better than my wife in some ways, being extremely gentle with it. Absolutely no beaching, no dropping, only one driver ( me), constant fuel and oil level inspections, as well as constant TLC cosmetically. It really seemed to be in great shape when I puchased it, and I cannot imagine that I had done anything to hurt it.
Please help!!!!????!!!!! I would really like to discover something stupid on my own without having to spend an arm and a leg at the dealer with no warranty to fix it. If my wife finds out that our new investment is currently not working, I'll be in a heap of trouble!
