I am a 25 male and wondering if I will never hear the end of it if I get an 883. What is the deal? For real?

Buy what you like, don't worry about idiotic comments from others unless it's all in fun. Life is short and money is tight when you are young. If you love 883's get one they are fun . Same goes for any make of bike.

I ride a 2000 sportster hugger. Everyone that sees it says it is a nice looking bike. Of course the painting of a chick in a bikini doesn't hurt either. Buy what you want and forget what everyone else thinks.

This is a great motorcycle that is a joy to ride.
don't let comments from morons sway your buying decision

Dan Listen to me, if u buy a 883 you will love it for the first 2 weeks untill you get used to it, then after that, you will hate it cause its too slow, and you won't be able to keep up with all of ur riding buddies, the Yamaha 650 V Star is faster than the 883, and the V Star is a "Girls Bike"

I'm a 54 year old male and went from a 1500 Vulcan to to a used '91 883 Hugger with only 7,000 and no mods. I really like the geometry of the sportster. It's a great commuter bike that can cruise too. I'm goin' to convert it to a 1200 this year. No weight gain and same handeling with more get-up-and-go for a little $$. I don't ride for others and I never made excuses during the past two years.

If you buy the bike to be lauded by your peers, then don't. If you are man enough to do what you want without having to take a popularity poll first, then you will love this bike.

I bought a 05 883 low and love it. My younger brother has a Heritage Soft Tail Classic. When he found out I purchased it he called it a "Skirtster" that is till he went to the dealer with me a saw it, 1st words out of his mouth were "Wow, nice bike". Now he complains because he was riding my bike, which we all know the Sportster is a great handler on the twisties, and he switches back to the HD HSC he scrapes up his floorboards in the corners LMAO
