| | Rode 2 up with the wife this weekend no problem with the exhaust system. When I first purchased the bike and rode it home I placed my hand on the exhaust cover and it was warm to the touch after 60 miles of riding. |

| | Rode two up last weekend with my wife for about 250 miles. Very comfy. No exhaust heat. We bought a V-Strom because, when we went to Daytona in March and sat on several different bikes, the DL 1000 fit us the best. |

| Passenger reports very comfortable seating on 3 hour trip. Exhaust temp not an issue. Shields work well.

| The exaust was just fine. It was the wind that beat my head back and forth when I ride double. I am 6'. For me it really mess's up the touring aspect of the bike.

| What looks like the mufflers is just a heat sheld. You can put your hand on it after a fast ride and there worm not hot.
