| About 5 months ago i purchased my first bike, a Suzuki sv650s....its a great beginners bike, and very forgiving to ride. Obviously comparing the Interceprtor to the SV is out of the question...Is going from the 650 to the Interceptor too far of a jump ?? i just wouldn't want to get into something that I couldnt handle...some advice would be great !!

| No, it's not too far of a jump, providing you are experienced and mature enough. I went from a Suzuki GS500E to a Honda SuperHawk 996 (similar to the Interceptor, but more kick from the start). That was a huge jump, but it was alright because I ready, had ridden the GS for about 8K miles and taken the MSF basic and experienced courses. I have an Interceptor now (for 25K miles) and love it.

| Hey tom, I think I can answer that for you! I was just working in New Zealand at a motorcycle tours and rental place. anyway, I came from riding a bmw f650gs, my first bike, which i'd had for 2 years. when I got there they gave me an SV650 to ride around and I loved it! it is great, magical engine and chassis, but terrible front end for the twisties. after riding that for a month or so I grabed an 05 VFR and found that the vfr was much smoother in its power delivery, so higher speeds will be found accidentally, but it's got great suspension, brakes and is really a better handling bike, if not a little less nible than the 650. but you can also cruise easy and ride like a gentleman around town if you'd like and it is very easy to manouver. one complant though was that my thumbs would get pinched with the tank if I fully rotated the handle bars either way. but maybe that was just that bike as it had been wrecked and had a high speed wobble when I went too far abouv the speed limit. but I loved every minute. it's not too much a step and is a great choice, I'm looking into one myself!
Cheers
