I have a 2001 xr100r. My chain has never been changed, and has alot of slack in it, "about 2-2 1/2" of slack "freeplay". Today i was riding and the chain knotted up around the countershaft "the smaller front sprocket" and broke off a big peice of the motor shell "cover, casing, whatever". has this happened to anyone else?

This has happend to me twice and it is easier to get a new engine cassing or when u have it all in one piece cut off all the overhanging white metal in front oif the sprocket so it can just fall out instead of getting caught up. and its alot eaiser to get mud and dirt out of there with out the overhang
