I am going to buy a 2000 XR250R. My previous bike was a KX125 but i never realy did any sort of Motocross, just trails and woods and playing around. Will this bike feel too sluggish coming off a 2 stroke? Also i heard the stock silencer is a load of crap, how much better does it perform with an aftermarket exhaust?

woe woe woe, it is not sluggish at all. The first thing you will notice is that this thing has A LOT more bottom end power then your 125, but the top end power will be a lot less and the powerband will not be as snappy. But this bike will climb a tree. Hell it'll climb anything better then your 125.

Man, this thing will climb up itself. It is the best at hillclimbs, NEVER stalls.

I own a 1998 XR250R.It's a really good bike but the muffler is way too restrictive.I put an FMF Power Core with the spark arrestor on it.This one mod alone made a world of difference.I'd highly recommend it.Also,a K&N air filter plus removing the air box snorkel help 'er breathe much better.
