My VL900 just got 600 miles on it, can I use 10W40 Synthetic blend oil? or just use a normal 10W40 oil? I hear someone said can't use synthetic oil untill the bike got 2500 miles.please give me an idea.
Thanks, and ride safe
Brian

www.gadgetjq.com Check out this site. Also there is a vn900 motorcycle group in Yahoo. Join us. All I've read is stay with real (Dino) oil till 1,500 miles on the bike. Then switching is not a problem.

synthetics are not good for break in. They dont allow the seals to all seat right. I like having about 2000 miles before i see a switch to synthetics.

Don.t listen to all that hogwash. I worked for GM engineering and we wouldn't send are Vet's out with Mobil 1 in them if we thought the rings wouldn't seat. Porche does the same thing.
