| Hi I just got my kx250 2003 last week ..So far I have dumped it into a brook which was unlucky because there was a log in the water I did not see and I screwed my fingers up for a few weeks cause I feel on some rocks but I ended up dumping the bike in the brook .So here is my question.I have gone threw 2 spark plugs in the past 3 days and I am pissed .My bike was working after I dumped it but for some reason 1 week later I am now having spark plug problems. And they are a bitch to do because the new kx250 dont give you enough room to put your hand beneath the gas tank to push the sparkplug wire on...What should I do?I already change my transmission fluid and put a new spark plug in..should I just lieve the spark plug out for a while and let it dry or maybe use a blow dryer to dry up the water inside if there is any

| | If water could have gotten into the engine, turn the fuel off and take the drain plug out of the carb (large hex head bolt in botoom of carb). Once the carb has drained, put the plug back in. Take off the seat and pull out the air filter, wash it with filter cleaner fluid and re-oil it. Once you have it back together run the bike for a few minutes and it should be fine. However it sounds like you've already run the bike since so you might be past this point. Why do you have to change plugs? Does the old plug stop sparking? If so is it fouled when you take it out (dark brown/black and wet) in which case it could be a mixture problem. Also spray penetrating oil in the plug lead cap and around the CDI to displace any water (behind the front nuber plate on the KX). |

| something similar happend to me, just try checking the spark wires, they can get screwy and rusted from the water and not give a consistent spark
